Cost of 2 Days Akagera National Park Tour
This 2 Days Akagera National Park Tour takes us to Akagera National Park for a game drive and to Ihema Lake for a canoe ride to see the water animals and birds.
Akagera National Park lies in eastern Rwanda, hugging the border with Tanzania. It's characterized by woodland, swamps, low mountains and savannah.
The varied terrain shelters wildlife including zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions and hundreds of bird species, such as the rare shoebill stork. In the southern part of the park, vast Lake Ihema is home to hippos and crocodiles.
Of the primates olive baboons and vervet monkeys are very common. The blue monkey, which was thought to have been extinct in Akagera, was recently rediscovered. Needless to say it’s not easy to find.
Even if you don’t come across too many animals, you probably won’t come across too many other wildlife-viewing drivers either.
Indeed, the tourist trail has yet to fully incorporate Akagera, which means you can soak up the park’s splendid nature in relative peace and isolation.
Today morning we leave for Akagera national park right after your breakfast on your first day of 2 Days Akagera National Park Tour, the driver guide will pick you up from your hotel where he will drop you at the end of the trip or to the airport depending on where you prefer.
The journey to Akagera national park takes about 2.5 hours depending on the stopovers along the way. With the beautiful landscaper en route to the park, feel free to ask the guide for stopovers to capture some photos.
On arrival at the park, we shall proceed to our accommodation after a short game drive and check in. We order lunch and later take a boat trip on Lake Ihema watch Hippos and crocodiles in the water or by the shores.
