Kazinga Channel boat cruises are being operated by two independent companies: the Uganda Wildlife Authority, which is a government body in charge of all protected areas in Uganda, and Mweya Safari Lodge.

Both boat cruises cost approximately $30 per person and take 2 hours. Mweya Safari Lodge gives travelers a choice between the comfortable ten-seater boat, the luxury Sunbird, and its cozy, stylish twelve-seater boat, also known as the Kingfisher.

Both boats come with experienced tour guides and crew, although the Kingfisher gives tourists a luxury travel experience, offering refreshments and canopies that protect clients from the sun.

Wildlife in the Kazinga Channel

The Kazinga channel is home to many animals and birds, such as one of the world’s largest concentrations of hippos, estimated to be around 2,000, and many Nile crocodiles. Tourists should expect to see elephants, more than 100 water birds, and buffaloes.
