 The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary was reintroduced into Uganda in 2005 by a government organization called Rhino Fund Uganda. Ziwa is Uganda’s only place where travelers can track rhinos on foot; rhino tracking is really an exciting tourism activity as you watch both the white and black rhinos.

 

 Ziwa Rhino sanctuary has approximately 78 well-trained, skilled rangers working hand in hand with the Uganda Wildlife Authority to ensure that the rhinos and visitors are protected and safe. Ziwa Rhino started with approximately six rhinos, and currently the number has increased to about 19 animals. Apart from African black and white rhinos, the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary harbors many bird species, reptiles, hippos, antelopes, Nile crocodiles, and monkeys.

 

 Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is an awesomely unique tourism activity that grants visitors a chance to see both black and white rhinos on foot at the same place. Rhino tracking involves watching rhinos at a safer distance under the guidance of a skilled ranger guide. You can also take closer pictures with them as you observe these endangered rhinos feeding in their natural habitat.
